The Fourth National Festival of Yemeni Honey and Bee Products concluded this evening in the capital, Sana'a, which was organized and funded by the Municipality of the Capital in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. The Fourth National Festival of Yemeni Honey and Bee Products concluded this evening in the capital, Sana'a, which was organized and funded by the Municipality of the Capital in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. Its activities were hosted by the Sana'a Unity Club over a period of six days, with broad public and official presence and interaction.
The goal of the festival, which was held under the slogan “Yemen, Home of Honey,” is to revive the status of Yemeni honey in international forums and improve its marketing, in addition to advertising high-quality varieties of it.
At the closing ceremony, which was attended by the Deputy Mayor of the Capital, Amin Jamaan, and the Chairman and members of the Festival Committee, the Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee - Deputy Head of the Development Team in the Municipality, Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, in a speech from the leadership of the Municipality, stressed the great importance that the Fourth Honey Festival represented in marketing, introducing and promoting the product, praising the great success achieved by the festival.
Expressing his great thanks to the organizing committees of the festival, which received great support and follow-up by the leadership of the Municipality of the Capital, represented by the Mayor of the Capital, Chairman of the Local Council, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, the Secretary-General, Amin Jamaan, President of the Sana’a Unity Club, and the Secretariat’s secretariat representatives, as well as the brothers in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, led by Mr. Ibrahim Al-Madani, Deputy Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, the Ministry’s Undersecretaries, and all employees.
The captain stressed the need to support and encourage this important economic product for which Yemen is famous and which constitutes an economic tributary in light of the siege and aggression the country is witnessing.
He stressed joining efforts and working to bring local products, including food, clothing, and medicine, to self-sufficiency, which is considered national security for the entire country.
He praised the role of cooperative societies, cadres and leaders of the Capital Municipality and the Ministry of Agriculture in moving towards developing agricultural products, adopting economic empowerment projects, and implementing many projects and activities that serve development areas.
The festival's activities included activities, seminars and practical lectures on Yemeni honey, its quality, promotion and marketing locally and abroad.
In its fourth season, the festival enjoyed wide participation from associations, honey producers and merchants, agricultural associations, associations of the capital’s secretariat directorates, productive families, and owners of small and medium enterprises, with the participation of more than 31 associations and more than 200 productive families.
It received a great response from visitors who expressed their satisfaction with the festival and its activities, sending messages of thanks to the festival’s organizing committee and the efforts made by the brothers in charge of it.
The festival was distinguished by its area and areas being many times larger than previous festivals, and its distinction in quantity and quality. The festival was also distinguished by broad and active participation by visitors, the private sector, institutions, government agencies, and senior officials in the state.
And social figures, those interested in Yemeni honey, and various segments of society, who were keen to acquire samples of the product, benefiting from the reductions in honey prices that the festival offered to its visitors.
Participants in the festival’s events and activities praised the great demand witnessed by the festival from consumers and visitors, and stressed their keenness to purchase Yemeni honey of the various types displayed at the festival due to their high confidence in its quality, as it has been subjected to examination, control, and measuring the extent of its compliance with specifications and quality for the first time.
At the closing ceremony, the festival organizing committees and participants in the festival activities were honored with certificates of appreciation.
