Today, a scientific workshop entitled “Agricultural and Fisheries Marketing” was held in Sana’a, within the framework of the activities of the Yemen Bounties Festival in its second season.
The workshop included two working papers, the first on agricultural marketing, the sustainable concept, presented by Dr. Mohieddin Al-Hajj, a specialist in the philosophy of economics from the College of Agriculture at Sana’a University. It touched on the basics and strategies of agricultural and fishery marketing, methods of accessing markets, as well as the importance of packaging and branding.
The paper reviewed the challenges and opportunities in marketing Yemeni fruits and fish products, in addition to problems related to transportation and storage, as well as job opportunities and the role of technology and electronic marketing for agricultural and fishery products in Yemen.
While the second paper dealt with agricultural marketing and the elements of its success, presented by Dr. Fadl Al-Mahmoudi from the College of Commerce at Sana’a University, and included a practical application session to develop a simplified marketing plan for products (grapes, mangoes, dried fish).
An elite group of academics, experts and specialists participate in the scientific workshops and seminars held on the sidelines of the festival organized by the local council in the capital secretariat, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, through the Office of Agriculture and the Unit for Financing Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives in the secretariat.
