Today, a workshop was held in Sanaa on addressing the causes of the spread of watery diarrhea, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Administration and Local and Rural Development, Muhammad Al-Madani, the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, and the Deputy Minister of Interior, Major General Abdul Majeed Al-Murtada.

Today, a workshop was held in Sanaa on addressing the causes of the spread of watery diarrhea, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Administration and Local and Rural Development, Muhammad Al-Madani, the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, and the Deputy Minister of Interior, Major General Abdul Majeed Al-Murtada.
In the workshop, organized by the Ministry of Local and Rural Administration and Development, the Deputy Prime Minister explained that the aim of the workshop is to unify official and popular efforts to address the causes of the spread of watery diarrhea and eliminate the main causes that help in its spread.
He pointed out the importance of sensing responsibility from all official and popular bodies, accurately diagnosing the causes of the spread of watery diarrhea, and taking measures to prevent its spread, because of its negative repercussions on citizen health and the environment.
Al-Madani pointed out the importance of community awareness, through the media, about the causes of the spread of the disease... stressing the necessity of concerted efforts of the various concerned parties and working within a unified path to protect society from epidemics and find treatments that ensure the provision of alternative sources of income for the affected groups.
For his part, the Minister of Health and Environment stressed the importance of taking into account all hotspots of the spread of watery diarrhea to ensure coming up with radical treatments that prevent the spread and spread of epidemics.
He pointed out that the high rates of diarrhea constitute a major burden on health facilities, in addition to the burdens that affect citizen health, the environment, and the economic burdens resulting from the spread of diseases and epidemics.
Dr. Shaiban pointed out the importance of concerted efforts of all concerned parties to eliminate the hotspots of epidemics that have become a global phenomenon, while the increase in their rates in the recent period requires dealing with them as a catastrophic result of aggression.
He touched on the importance of community awareness of the causes of the spread of epidemics and ensuring the use of clean water, as sterilization methods are no longer effective, in addition to the fact that pollution can seep into well water, especially those close to sewage sources.
In turn, the Mayor of the Capital reviewed the efforts made to reduce the spread of diarrhea, stressing the necessity of preventing irrigation of crops with polluted water, and working to provide clean water to farmers.
He pointed out the importance of researching all causes of the spread of epidemics to come up with effective treatments, and taking deterrent steps against violating farmers.
Abbad touched on a number of measures and proposals that should be taken, including digging new wells to irrigate crops, establishing a treatment and purification station, making channels to drain polluted water, in addition to constructing cliffs to benefit from rainwater for irrigation and groundwater recharge.
While the Deputy Minister of Interior pointed out the importance of coming up with radical treatments and not being satisfied with partial and temporary treatments.
Al-Murtada pointed out the necessity of concerted efforts of all concerned parties with the security services to eliminate the causes of the problem.
The workshop, with the participation of the Ministries of Administration and Local and Rural Development, Health and Environment, Interior and the Capital Secretariat, the General Corporation for Water and Sanitation, the Office of Health and the Agricultural Sector, the Local Authority, the Bani Al-Harith Association, and the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the Secretariat, reviewed the roles assigned to the concerned authorities in preventing the spread of watery diarrhea and the official and community efforts made to prevent it.
The participants stressed the need to come up with a unified and binding executive mechanism for the concerned authorities to play their role in limiting the spread of epidemics, in addition to activating cooperative societies and the community in finding sustainable community solutions, supported and supported by the official authorities.
The workshop was attended by the Undersecretary of the Local Development Sector at the Ministry of Local and Rural Administration and Development, Ammar Al-Hareb, the Undersecretary of the Capital Municipality, Muhammad Al-Banous, the two Assistant Undersecretaries of the Ministry, Khalil Al-Quraishi, the Secretariat, Abdul-Wahab Sharaf Al-Din, and representatives of a number of concerned authorities.
