Today, the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, opened the “The Best What Our Hands Have Produced” festival for productive families in its first season, which is held by the Al-Wahda Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Society in Al-Wahda District.

Today, the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, opened the “The Best What Our Hands Have Produced” festival for productive families in its first season, which is held by the Al-Wahda Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Society in Al-Wahda District.
The festival, which continues until the 26th of this month, aims to support the economic empowerment of productive families, and to strengthen institutional partnership in implementing initiatives that have a development impact, in coordination with the local authority in the directorate, the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the secretariat, the Bonyan Development Foundation, and the Libyan Trade Center.
The festival is held in cooperation with the agricultural sector, the Social Affairs and Labor Office of the Secretariat, the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprise Development, and the Agricultural Cooperative Union, with the participation of official and development bodies.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Abbad stressed that supporting and caring for productive families represents a fundamental pillar in the battle for financial and productive independence that the nation is waging through value chain programs, starting with providing inputs to the farm and passing through storage, packaging, packaging, drying, manufacturing industries, and improving quality.
He stressed that these initiatives directly contribute to completing the “value chain” of the local product, and linking the farm to the consumption and manufacturing market with purely national hands.
He explained that these projects represent the practical translation of the comprehensive economic renaissance project called for by the leader of the revolution, Mr. Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and are being implemented by state institutions as a strategic option to transform society from a state of passive consumption to active production.
The mayor of the capital pointed out that strengthening the "community economy" is the ideal response to the aggression's attempts to target the citizen's livelihood, as these exhibitions work to eradicate unemployment and liberate the local market from dependency on the imported product.
He stressed that the Municipality of the Capital continues to provide the necessary facilities and support for these projects to ensure their sustainability and expansion, in a way that ensures the building of a resistant national economy that relies on self-capabilities and achieves self-sufficiency.
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Ghassan Al-Madani, considered the exhibition a strategic start on the path of liberation from import domination, describing it as a strong initiative that lays the first building blocks for localizing the local product and achieving self-sufficiency as a sovereign option.
He explained that productive families have demonstrated exceptional competence in transforming the stifling challenges imposed by the aggression and siege into fruitful production opportunities, as they were able, with their steadfastness and creativity, to create a new reality that is consistent with the national vision aimed at achieving self-sufficiency and reducing the import bill.
He pointed out that the state is moving forward with a radical strategy aimed at changing societal culture, and moving youth and families from the box of “consumption dependent on imported products” to “labour and productive labor,” in a process of comprehensive reformulation of economic identity to ensure the supremacy of national decision-making, considering that the success of the experience of the Al-Wahda District Association sets a new standard for institutional cooperative work that serves sustainable development.
Dr. Al-Madani called on all cooperative societies in the directorates of the capital secretariat and the rest of the governorates to be inspired by this pioneering experience and disseminate it... stressing that disseminating the model of productive families across the national map is the true guarantee for thwarting schemes of systematic impoverishment, and building a resistant economy based on brown hands and national products that are worthy of the sacrifices and sovereignty of the Yemeni people.
In turn, the head of the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprises, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kabsi, pointed out that the exceptional creativity of families that he saw at the Al-Wahda Directorate exhibition inspires optimism and heralds a new era of productive sovereignty, especially in the manufacturing sector, which relies entirely on local agricultural raw materials for its inputs.
He stressed that the Authority will spare no effort to be of assistance and support to these families and creative youth energies, by providing the institutional and technical umbrella necessary to transform these initiatives from the phase of limited activity into pioneering projects that contribute to the national product and break the siege by relying fully on available national resources.
Dr. Al-Kabsi pointed out that focusing on manufacturing industries related to local raw materials is the most practical and profound response to policies of systematic impoverishment, whereby agricultural wealth is transformed into products with high added value by national hands.
He stressed that the Authority places at the top of its priorities the care of small and micro-enterprise owners, as they are the first wall in the face of economic war, and the winning bet towards creating a comprehensive national industrial renaissance based on the hands of the steadfast people.
The opening was attended by the Undersecretary of the Economic Empowerment Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Hassan Al-Dhari, the Secretary-General of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, Engineer Muhammad Al-Qahum, the directors of the Al-Wahda districts, Sami Humaid, and Old Sana’a, Mahdi Arhab, the agriculture department in the secretariat, Muhammad Hajar, the Social Affairs and Labor Nasser Al-Kahili, the slaughterhouses, Ahmed Idris, the unit’s mobilization official, Abdullah Al-Dharafi, and a number of leaders and social figures, and representatives of the cooperative societies in the directorates.
