Under the patronage of His Excellency the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Muhammad Abbad, and within the framework of the directives of the Municipality of the Capital aimed at enhancing economic empowerment and supporting the local product, the committee assigned by the Executive Director General of the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, Engineer Abdullah Ahmed Sharaf Al-Din, inspected the final preparations for holding the “First Seventy Ramadan Festival for Productive Families.”
The festival is organized by the Al-Sabeen Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society, funded and supervised by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Finance Unit, in the September 26 Park in the Al-Zahrawi area, with the aim of providing an organized marketing platform that contributes to supporting and marketing the products of productive families during the holy month of Ramadan.
During the field visit, the committee, headed by the Deputy Executive Director General of the Unit, Mr. Samir Ahmed Hamza, and the membership of the Director of Studies and Planning Department, Engineer Issam Al-Faqih, was briefed on the level of technical readiness and logistical arrangements at the festival site, including the mechanism for distributing pavilions and organizing the spaces allocated for exhibitors, ensuring the smooth movement of visitors and highlighting the products in an organized manner that reflects the quality of the exhibits.
The committee was received by the head of the Al-Sabeen Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society, Mr. Abdullah Qasim Ibrahim, and the association’s financial officer, Mr. Ibrahim Obaid, where the organizational work plan and joint coordination mechanisms were reviewed to ensure the success of the event and achieve its desired goals.
The committee stressed that the festival represents a development and economic initiative that contributes to moving families from the circle of consumption to the circle of production, by opening direct marketing outlets to display food products, handicrafts and textiles, and enabling families to market their products without intermediaries, in a way that enhances their income and improves their standard of living.
The festival also aims to establish a culture of self-reliance and encourage demand for the national product due to its quality and competitiveness, especially during the Ramadan season, which witnesses an increase in the volume of demand for consumer goods.
At the conclusion of the visit, the leadership of the committee and the association expressed deep thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Mayor of the Capital for his generous patronage and direct interest in development and community initiatives, praising his role in overcoming difficulties and supporting cooperative societies in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development in the Municipality of the Capital. They also stressed that the financing and supervisory support of the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit represents an essential pillar for the success of the festival and achieving the desired economic and social impact.
