Under the patronage of the mayor of the capital, Sana’a, head of the local council, Dr. Hammoud Muhammad Abbad, and with funding from the Agricultural and Fisheries Finance, Projects and Initiatives Unit in the capital secretariat, and in cooperation with the Women’s Authority and the Sayyida Zeinab School, the local authority in the capital secretariat and the Bonyan Development Foundation concluded, today, a training program.
Under the patronage of the mayor of the capital, Sana’a, head of the local council, Dr. Hammoud Muhammad Abbad, and with funding from the Agricultural and Fisheries Finance, Projects and Initiatives Unit in the capital secretariat, and in cooperation with the Women’s Authority and the Sayyida Zeinab School, the local authority in the capital secretariat and the Bonyan Development Foundation concluded today a specialized training program aimed at qualifying and empowering female community pioneers in the Shuoub District, coinciding with the honoring of 54 pioneers participating in the program.
The training course, which was implemented by Bonyan Academy for Training and Rehabilitation during the period from 7 to 23 Shaaban 1447 AH, was part of the Volunteering Support Programme, and included a number of knowledge and skill topics, most notably the basics of volunteer work, development and management of development resources, and community initiatives, in addition to the concepts of urban development and mechanisms for enhancing community participation in the service of local development.
The course aimed to develop the participants’ capabilities and qualify them to play active roles in community and volunteer work, enhance women’s contribution to implementing development initiatives and stimulate community participation in a way that contributes to supporting sustainable development efforts at the level of the People’s District and the Capital Municipality in general.
At the conclusion of the program, 54 community leaders were honored in recognition of their commitment and active participation in the training course, and to encourage them to continue their role in serving society and promoting the culture of voluntary work and development initiatives.
Those in charge of the program stressed the importance of investing in building women’s capabilities and empowering them cognitively and skillfully, as they are an essential partner in achieving community development, pointing to the continued implementation of training and rehabilitation programs aimed at expanding the base of volunteer work and enhancing its role in local development.
