Today, the Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society in Al-Safiya District was launched in the capital secretariat.
The founding meeting, which was organized by the association’s preparatory committee, with the support of the local authority in the secretariat represented by the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, and in coordination with the Bonyan Development Foundation, the Social Affairs Office and the Agricultural Cooperative Union, approved the draft statute of the association, and the administrative body and the oversight and inspection committee were elected.
In the announcement, the head of the Social Affairs Committee in my locality in the capital secretariat, Hammoud Al-Naqib, indicated that the Al-Safia District Association is the tenth cooperative association whose formation has been completed at the level of the secretariat’s directorates.
He stressed the importance of improving cooperative work by activating the association’s role in the required manner and creating investment projects for the association that will help it to continue and contribute to achieving self-sufficiency.
The captain pointed out that cooperative societies are a fundamental pillar of local development, mobilizing community efforts and initiatives, and implementing development and service programs and projects.
During the announcement in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Capital Municipality, Mazen Noman, the Assistant Undersecretary, Fadl Al-Rouni, and the Director of Initiatives at the Ministry of Local and Rural Administration and Development, Abdo Masri, the Acting Executive Director of the Bonyan Development Foundation, Ali Maher, touched on the importance of enhancing the performance of cooperative societies by working in accordance with leadership directives in building their cadres in various fields.
He appreciated the keenness of the secretariat leadership to rehabilitate and develop cooperative societies by training and qualifying their cadres with the aim of contributing to the development of local communities in the capital’s secretariat districts to achieve self-sufficiency.
While Director of the Directorate, Saleh Al-Maysari, stressed the importance of exploiting the facilities available to the association to advance cooperative work and adopt development and service projects that meet the aspirations of society.
In turn, the Director of the Associations Department in the Social Affairs Office of the Secretariat, Nabil Rajeh, touched on the efforts that were made in preparing and preparing for the establishment of the cooperative association for the people of the Al-Safia District.
